Wilson's 10-33 Benefit
Motorcycle Ride and Picnic
A Huge Success!

Officer David Wilson, a five year veteran of the Hillsborough Township Police Department (NJ), known by all for his gregarious and helpful demeanor, is bravely facing a battle against Leukemia.  PBA Local #205 (Hillsborough Twp Police) in partnership with the Wilson's 10-33 Foundation, Inc., hosted a Motorcycle Ride and Picnic to benefit Officer Wilson’s fight against lukemia.

Officer Dave Wilson

The Motorcycle Ride and Picnic, which took place on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the HILLSBOROUGH VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY #2, located at 375 Rt. 206, Hillsborough, NJ 08844 was a huge success by everyone's standards.  An estimated 2000 motorcycles of every color, shape and size participated in the run.  The line of motorcycles was said to stretch as long as 7-10 miles during the run.

Motorcycles from all over participated in the run.  Motorcycle units from police departments in North Bergen, Union City, Jersey City, and Franklin Twp. rode in the Run and assisted with traffic control throughout the run.  Large contingents of members of the Blue Knights and Red Knights motorcycle clubs which are comprised of police officers and firefighters respectively, turned out for the event.  Hundreds of emergency service personnel from police, fire and rescue as well as other caring motorcycle enthusiasts showed their support at the event.

Among these caring citizens, was Hillsborough native, veteran of Super Bowl XXXVIII and safety for the Cleveland Browns, Shawn Mayer.  Shawn
graciously stopped by to hand out and personally autograph photos during the event.  Thank you Shawn.  Another unexpected highlight of the day came from the Kelsey Charity Run, Inc. when they donated $5,000 to the event.  A wonderful example of one good cause helping another.

The Hillsborough PBA would like to personally thank the dozens of volunteers that make up "Wilson's Warriors" and everyone who helped make this worthy event such a success.  Once again, when your community needed you, you all answered the call.

PBA Local 205 to Participate in the New York
Giants Snow Bowl.

The Hillsborough PBA Local 205 has been a long time supporter of the Special Olympics by participating in their annual fundraising events such as the Law Enforcement Torch Run and the Polar Bear Plunge.  We are now increasing our efforts to aid this worthy organization by taking part in another event to benefit over 2,000 Special Olympics athletes in Somerset County as well as many others statewide.

On February 7, 2009 members of the Hillsborough PBA Local 205 will be participating in the New York Giants Snow Bowl.  The Snow Bowl is a flag football tournament to benefit the New Jersey Chapter of the Special Olympics.  All proceeds collected by the flag football teams benefit Special Olympics New Jersey athletes and help foster the Special Olympics mission:

To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

We are calling on friends and family of our local to help support this worthy cause by donating to our team to benefit the Special Olympics New Jersey.  Donations can be made by contacting Pat Murphy at 908-369-4323 ext. 650 or via email at pmurphy@hillsboroughpolice.org.  Any donation is greatly appreciated.  Any questions in regards to this event can be directed to Pat Murphy.
