If you were southbound on Rt. 206 in Hillsborough on Friday June 1, 2007, at around 4:00pm and found yourself stuck in traffic, we humbly apologize but it was for a good cause.  Hillsborough Township P.B.A. Local #205 members once again stepped up to the plate and answered the call to help those in need.  This time, they donated their time (and sweat) by participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

Statewide, The 23rd Annual Torch Run was held in 18 major areas throughout NJ to help raise money for the Special Olympics.  This event takes months of planning, and collecting of pledges by more than 2,700 police officers from all over the State.   Police officers carry the torch over 950 miles until they reach the final leg of the Run which brings the torch into the Trenton Stadium and lights the cauldron to officially open SONJ's Summer Games. For more information contact: E-mail LETR@sonj.org, phone (609) 896-8000 Law Enforcement Sponsorship Department.  To find out about how to donate to the Special Olympics click here.
